Petit Vermell
In an old cinema, the Petit Vermell, two confused ushers find themselves immersed in the film, whose characters come to life and step out of the screen, blurring the boundaries between the story and reality.
With the aim of integrating the magic of artists like Buster Keaton and Charles Chaplin into our modern society, and using contemporary dance, clowning, and puppetry, the Petit Vermell Company has created this humorous family show that celebrates the simplicity, tenderness, and playful nature of silent cinema and street arts.
Petit Vermell seeks to reclaim the beauty of sharing, of taking time for small actions.
Melissa Salimbeni and Guillem Batlle are the creators and performers of Petit Vermell, a contemporary dance and physical theatre company which dabbles in clowning, puppetry, visual effects, and magic tricks. This young company, supported by Barceloneta Civic Centre and part of the Sant Martí Civic Centre’s Procreació 2024 programme, is presenting its first piece: Petit Vermell.
