You are not a ghost

Dissociation is a term used to describe the disconnection between things that are typically associated with each other. It often refers to the experience of feeling like a "ghost" in one's own body, rather than its driver. As if, for a moment, one could observe oneself as though looking at one's own image. 

You are not a ghost explores the dissociative experience and the splitting of self on both a conceptual and physical level. In this way, the piece examines the essence of the psychological mechanism in order to uncover its poetic nature.

WAN is the creative duo formed by Aina Lanas and Valentina Azzati since 2022. Two performing artists based in Barcelona. Both are interested in the plastic and cinematographic treatment of the stage, choreographic meticulousness, and the use of the potential of urban and folkloric techniques, such as musicality, dissociation, and groove, both in physical training and in creation.
