JUST DESIRE

Smooth, shiny, plain and continuous, JUST DESIRE is like the finishes of the most inspirational consumer items of our time. Like a high-end telephone, a luxury perfume or the fastest car in the world – the Tesla Roadster – the performance is offered to us as the object of our desire. JUST DESIRE is a solo performance that provides us with a series of crazy fantasies all related to desire. The constant flowing interaction between the materials and the performer creates a sequence that takes from the mainstream imaginaries of our culture, but which plunges to unfathomable depths. In this cascade of inexhaustible of action, words and song, the performance speculates beyond the notion of an ‘I’ and the idea of a disjointed community.

Søren Evinson trained at the Institut del Teatre and completed his performance studies at the University of London, where he graduated with honours. He investigates with the body, the voice, the word, materials and objects to construct pieces that reflect on the idea of contemporary culture. His first solo, A Nation is Born in Me, was premiered a the TNT Festival and it has been presented at the Centre National de la Dance in Paris, the Next Festival in Valenciennes and the Grec Festival, among others.
