Dansa Metropolitana 2025 is set to bring life and movement to 12 cities across the Barcelona metropolitan area. With a programme that stands out for its breadth and diversity, the festival brings together local and international artists of excellence to offer unique and thrilling experiences to its audiences.
This year, the festival focuses on the intimate connection between sound and movement, exploring how vibration creates unique dialogues between body and music. This interaction becomes an artistic language that transcends disciplines and evokes shared emotions, offering audiences fully immersive sensory experiences.
The Vibracions project will connect choreography professionals from Catalonia with local schools and, through them, with the wider public, aiming to make everyone resonate through dance and music. Architecture, with its forms, spaces, and materials, will serve as the perfect stage for this project, amplifying the vibrations of the body and sound, and transforming movement into a constant dialogue with the surrounding environment.
The festival invites audiences to discover dance in all its breadth and variations: in major theatres such as the Mercat de les Flors, the Gran Teatre del Liceu, or the Teatre Lliure, as well as in non-theatrical spaces, large and small venues, squares, streets, creative centres, cinemas, and even in digital spaces. Any space is a good place to connect with movement. Because dance is not only seen, it is lived, and it is in this shared movement that we find the vibration that unites us.
