roges
In roges, two male and two female dancers transfer to their dance testimonies from the period immediately after the Spanish Civil War, seeking to recover the cultural legacy of that period.
roges is a show in which four dancers transfer to their dance testimonies from the period after the Spanish Civil War. roges is, at the same time, a piece that shows the evolution of the research that the Companyia Miquel Barcelona is carrying out for the show rojos. rojos is a piece of performing arts resulting from the intersection between two lines of work: a search for testimonies from the period after the Spanish Civil War and the recovery of the cultural and artistic legacy of the period. rojos will be premiered at the Mercat de les Flors in the 2021-2022 season. From August 2020 to December 2021, through the process of creation of rojos, places of memory of the post-war period will be worked on artistically and the content, aesthetic and dramaturgy of the final piece will be nourished by the work of territory and memory at different festivals and exhibition structures. The goal of these immersions is twofold: to find important information about that period in order to establish strong parallels with the present and to generate a framework of content for the staged final piece. roges is the evolution of this research that the company is sharing in capsules in different exhibition contexts. It has already been performed at Terrats en Cultura - Coincidències, Escena Poblenou, Itineràncies and Festival Cantilafont.
The companyia miquelbarcelona focuses its stage work on dance as a point of intersection between living arts, territory and memory. The latest creations [kórps] and parra are noteworthy, part of the programme of support for creation of FiraTàrrega 2019.
