ARTIFICIOS Y LEOPARDOS
A hybrid on-stage experience created by Mercedes Pedroche that moves between theatre and dance, in which, through an iterative device, a woman channels a collective experiment about freedom.
A woman, crossed with Camus’s absurd Sisyphus, lives trapped in a cyclical experience that has led to her to an impasse. She wanders alone like a caged leopard, denying creeds and flocks. Aware of her vulnerability, she seeks in her failure the vital impulse that will allow her to live outside the backdrops and the fictitious beliefs that society imposes. Through an iterative device the woman channels a collective experiment about freedom.
Mercedes Pedroche has since 2005 been working in independent creation. Her artistic language currently moves in a territory on the boundary between dance and theatre, where reality becomes fiction and the spectator takes an active part in the performance, sharing on the stage questions that consider the motives of human beings in their social context.
The company will host a post-performance discussion on 13 March.
