Through contemporary dance, two dancers make us reflect on the frontiers that for centuries we have created between worlds, countries and people.
This piece stems from the need to investigate, through dance, frontiers and migratory movements – frontiers and barriers that have been created for centuries, separating worlds, countries and people. Both dancers experiment with distance (real and hypothetical), closeness, distance, power and uprisings, sharing the same common premise: the impossibility of creating frontiers with ourselves.
Colectivo Glovo, created in 2016 by Esther Latorre (Spain) and Hugo Pereira (Portugal) constantly investigates new forms of performance expression, while seeking to sow their seed in the artistic fabric of communities, generating spaces of collaboration with other groups and artists, and creating synergies between creators and performers. Since it was founded, it has toured countries like Spain, Portugal, Italy and Mexico, among others. With this piece it has received mentions at festivals like Corto In Danza (Italy), La Espiral Contemporánea (Santander), it won the audience’s prize at the Sólodos En Danza International Choreography Competition of Solos and Duos (Ourense), and First Prize at the Burgos & New York International Choreography Competition.
