Plàncton, Smart City / Vox Balaenae

Plàncton is a double programme that highlights the globalized world we live in, where the preservation of the environment is apparently contrary to the wellbeing of the millions of inhabitants of the planet. Smart City takes as a reference present-day Barcelona through the extrapolation of the patterns present in Big Data or the massive gathering of information that shows the frantic pace of our lives. And Vox Balaenae shows us the state of the sea, the cry of nature and its immensity, taking as its leitmotiv the song of the humpback whale with the aim of plunging the audience into the magical blue atmosphere of the deep ocean.

Ballet Contemporani shows us through the beauty of art and a captivating mise-en-scène, eight dancers and three exceptional musicians who want to transmit a message of hope. A new company fruit resulting from a diverse participative team wishing to contribute something new to the Catalan scene, that breaks stereotypes and worries the audience in accordance with present-day values. On this occasion it brings us closer to the two extremes with which we coexist and which demand that we open our eyes to a virtual reality and excessive consumerism that have obstructed our senses and authentic values.
