The dancer José Maldonado pays tribute in a solo performance to the art and culture of four of Spain’s most important artists: Falla, Lorca, Dalí and Carmen Amaya.
This contemporary and multidisciplinary show combines dance, using flamenco as the initial axis; the plastic arts, with an exhibition of painting and the live creation of a new work; and audio-visual language, with an interactive piece that unites the three languages. All this is to create a cultural experience that pays tribute to four distinguished Spanish artists: Falla, Lorca, Dalí and Carmen Amaya.
Born in Barcelona, José Maldonado, a graduate of Spanish dance and flamenco at the Institut del Teatre, is one of the up-and-coming artists on the current flamenco scene. A dancer and choreographer, he combines tradition with the avant-garde. His professional career goes hand in hand with many well-known artists and companies, often working also as a solo dancer or guest artist and touring all over the world, appearing at the most important theatre and dance festivals.
