The Grooves Experience
Dance doesn’t just belong to the stage, but also to the dance floors of the city’s clubs. And it is precisely in search of the essence of clubbing that Marina Pravkina offers a performance/experience inspired by the movements of bodies in a club and the techniques of urban dance in order to create scores of “grooves”, sounds that invite us to dance. Marina sees musical venues as spaces to escape, reflect and transcend the individual to reach the collective. You will experience the different states of the “clubbing body” on a stage converted into a dance floor where everyone in the audience is invited to join in.
Marina Pravkina is an artist, choreographer, teacher and founder of the Jazzbetween project, which she has brought to Barcelona after having performed in many other cities (from Bratistava to Tokyo). She is the soul of an artistic collective that promotes the fusion of urban cultures and jazz, as well as contemporary music and dance, a space open to collaboration among DJs, performers, dancers and musicians.
Pelat :
A show that blurs the boundaries between dance and circus; between theatre and performance art, audience and show. A natural revisiting of craft techniques and some of our own memories. Pelat seeks to recover the look of works made by hand, without technology. A dialogue between man and object that, from a gesture, leaves space for imagination to share experiences with the public, in an ephemeral ritual.
Joan Català understands theatre as a space of for dialogue between human beings, objects and the environment, where play and work mix with tools, experiences and ideas. Since 2005 he has worked in theatres and festivals around the world with companies such as Daromai, Circus Klezmer, Los2play and Mudances. Other Catalan shows are: Menar, a duet with the choreographer Roser Tutusaus (2016), 5100m/s (2021) and IDIÒFONA (2023), his latest creation, seen at the Grec Festival and FiraTàrrega. His many awards include the Audience's Choice at the Sebastià Gasch Awards (2014) and Best Show at the Miramiro Festival (Belgium, 2014).
