Dolorosa de los Llanos
Dolorosa de los Llanos undertakes an on-stage search focused on the ritual of the procession: walking as an act of faith and redemption.
In front of us the Latin American plain unfolds. On the horizon we see a path, on either side of which virgins appear at night, and at the crossroads we come across the demons and the lloronas of Latin American mythology. We see three figures in procession, crossing the plain, dragging their sins, their punishments, their promises and their gratitude behind them. They walk. Where are they heading? What is the destination of their devotion? Its creators approach this work as a pilgrimage in search of their origins, their relationship with folklore and the traces of their Latin American identity, still present in their migrant, Euro-resident and contemporary bodies.
