Slapstick
A tribute to the silent cinema, transporting street arts to a comedy short, with a character waiting for a train who will make us laugh like children again.
With Slapstick the street arts transport us to a comedy short, with a character waiting for a train as the protagonist. It is a tribute to the silent cinema, with figures like Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton or Harold Lloyd as the main source of inspiration. A dance theatre and clown show, runner-up at the 2020 MAX Prizes as the Best Street Show, in which blows, falls and physically extreme and implausible situations are enjoyed live with a character whose humour is white, inspiring tenderness and humour in equal measure. With gags that will make us laugh again like children, we discover a huge measure of humanism.
The Cia. Mar Gómez is a dance theatre company that combines a very personal choreographic style with characteristics such as theatricality, narrative, the poetry of images, gesture and, above all, a great sense of humour. The company’s theatre and street shows have aroused extraordinary involvement with the public, something that has led it to make numerous national and international tours and to become an important name in Spanish dance theatre.
