Baile de bestias
The flamenco dancer Jesús Carmona, accompanied by composer Manu Masaedo, presents his latest work, Baile de bestias (Dance of the Beasts), a dreamlike world with an avant-garde aesthetic in which he challenges his inner beasts to dance and transform tranquillity into movement and emotion.
In this piece Jesús Carmona creates a dreamlike world with an avant-garde aesthetic in which he challenges his inner beasts to dance and transform tranquillity into movement and emotion. Taking his body almost to the point of “collapse”, the show is yet another step towards the absolute truth, towards necessarily primordial movement. Accompanied onstage by the multi-instrumentalist Manu Masaedo, the dancer presents his own idea of flamenco, acquired after years of experience and working with different types of music and dance styles from all over the world.
Jesús Carmona, from Badalona, created his own company after a long career in the world of dance to show his most personal side. After reaching the rank of First Dancer in the National Ballet of Spain, he is setting out on this new adventure with which he has already premiered various shows that are touring Spain and the world, among them El Salto (2020) with which he won the 2020 National Dance Prize in the modality Creation.
