International community project

Romeo & Carmen - Los Extranjeros III

In 2023, Dansa Metropolitana began working on a community project in collaboration with the French company Kadia Faraux, an expert in community creations, with the aim of creating a community dance show that could have the necessary resources and the time to be able to be developed as a professional piece. A project based on the conviction that dance is the ideal language to create bonds between people through movement and that participants can freely share their vision of the world.

After months of work, also with the accompaniment of the young Catalan choreographer Pol Jiménez, the Romeo & Carmen – Los Extranjeros III project will be presented as an international project during this eighth edition of the festival in three spaces: the Barceloneta Civic Center (Barcelona), the Teatre Principal (Terrassa) and L’Estruch (Sabadell).

A work that will bring Catalan women between 40 and 80 years old into dialogue with a group of young French people who have carried out the same project in France, meeting different ways of understanding love, passion and its consequences.
