Let yourself be carried away by the raw energy and the free, expressive and energetic movements of krump, the style of urban dance that counteracted the anger, aggression and frustration experienced on the streets of Los Angeles in the 90s.
Who are US? Nobody. Someone’s mental anguish, or perhaps a message for you, embedded in a body. Or simply krump. And what is krump? One of the multiple dimensions of urban dance, a style born in California in the late 90s. Unconventional, with free, expressive and energetic movements. In many cases, krump represents a way to escape and counteract the anger, aggression and frustration experienced on the streets in a positive, artistic and non-violent way.
The Jokerz Company began in 2001 with the duo Big Joker and Jr Joker, and a wide variety of separately-learned artistic disciplines.. Both are members of the Om Rasa company, a training method created by Arias Fernández; and of the Titans crew, pioneers of the krump movement on a national scale and representatives of the style at an international level. They have delivered workshops in Europe, Latin America: and Asia. The first piece created by The Jokerz Company, A risas, received awards in 2016 at the HOP Festival and in 2017 at the Burgos & NY Choreography Competition, while the most recent piece, US, had its première at the Kalamata Dance Festival in Greece last July.
