Origami

Origami is a spectacular and delicate street dance work in which a 12-metre shipping container is transformed into an elegant origami object. The person behind this marvel is Satchie Noro, the dancer who performs a slow and subtle aerial dance on the mechanical structure as it unfolds and morphs into a triangle, a rectangle or a square.

Origami is a duet between a machine and a dancer, an industrial love story in which a symbol of globalisation, a shipping container, caters to the fragile scale of the human body. Noro and Silvain Ohl, who have created the show, connect dance, architecture and the landscape in movement through a surprisingly visual and profoundly poetic experience.

In 2002, Noro founded Furinkaï, a space for research, meeting others and creating choreographic works and actions that combine various art forms (dance, circus, music, construction, photography, etc.). Her work is inspired by partnerships with creators from diverse cultures and backgrounds and experimentation with new artistic approaches.
