Balla’m un llibre (Dance Me a Book)
Balla’m un llibre is a journey to rediscover books beyond their usual use, a participatory show for everyone that looks at dance by making a book dance, making it our dancing partner and transforming it into a thousand objects or ideas. A choreographic look, too, at the act of reading, at the different positions of the body and ways of walking and moving when he are engrossed in reading a book.
The idea is presented as a literary game with just one rule: a dancer invites the participants to play with the book and then delve into its pages, using the language of dance. An opportunity to gain practical experience of dancing and reading.
A choreographer, programmer and designer of artistic contexts through the groups ARTAS (Artistes Associats a La Poderosa) and G.R.U.A (Grup de Recerca d’Universos Artístics), Pere Faura fills his creations with elements of pop culture, such as striptease, disco or musicals, remixed in a multidisciplinary choreography that combines all aspects of theatricality.
