Blue Monday
This duo speaks to us through dance about the human being’s need for and dependence on human relationships and the urgent need to support others while barely supporting ourselves.
This duo speaks to us through dance about human relationships, about the human being’s need for and dependence on them and the urgent need to support others while barely supporting ourselves. Intimacy, symbiosis, dependence and transformation are some of the words that define this piece, now the third creation by Agnés Salas and Héctor Plaza developed during the laboratory project “Back to the Lab” of the Breakin’ Convention Festival at Sadler’s Wells Theatre in London.
Agnès and Héctor began working together in 2014. Due to the similarities of their individual bodily background, between them they discovered movement that was physical and virtuoso, but at the same time intimate, visceral and minimalist, with strength and reciprocal listening. This duo of dancers prioritizes the gesture, the intentions behind the movement, always constructing from the inside out. Thanks to their rapport, they have managed to create highly emotional spaces of collaboration.
