CARIBE MIX ‘23
Inspired by their thwarted dream of becoming pop superstars, and with the aim of celebrating the musical canons of mainstream culture, CARIBE MIX ‘23 stages the recording of the videoclip for the original song No se va a pegar (pop-star). With all the rawness of a recording studio onstage, CARIBE MIX ‘23 lives in its own construction, is fuelled by the utopia of fiction and shows what we never see as compulsive consumers of instant streaming: the other side of pop stars.
Mar Garcia, choreographer and performer, and Javi Soler, orchestra and choir conductor, are a company that seeks to explore and creative performances based on the relationship and intersection between movement and sound, both of which take centre stage. The materialisation of the show via the score and the quest for connection with the audience characterise their compositional style. Their creative interests also involve combining technical references from contemporary composition with references from their generation and the collective imaginary.
