__chãocéu| was created by Vera Mantero, Henrique Furtado Vieira, and João Bento (O Rumo do Fumo) with the aim of further exploration after their piece The Fright is a Whole World (2021). Building on this previous work, they now present a sextet on stage, consisting of three ladders and three bodies, with the symbolic aim of reaching the feet of the gods. A journey to another cosmological realm with mythological figures, where we will experience unusual relationships between opposites.
Founded in 1999 by Vera Mantero, O Rumo do Fumo is a Portuguese company focused on creation, production, dissemination, research, training, and programming of experimental and research-based contemporary dance. Since its inception, it has been characterised by the intersection of artistic disciplines, blending dance, music, theatre, literature/poetry, visual arts, and cinema.
This show includes fully nude performers.
