Coplas i Haikus de mares i amors [Coplas and Haikus on mothers and loves]

Compartir

Coplas i Haikus de mares i amors is what nineteenth-century French vaudeville show would be like if it were created today. In this piece, Rosa Muñoz and Mònica Muntaner seek the intersection between copla music and haikus through a reinterpretation of both genres via body language and text. It is a concert in motion, acoustic, almost a cappella, designed and dedicated to their mothers based on the quest for their own unique language.

Mònica Muntaner and Rosa Muñoz are two dancers born in the late 1960s who broke with the conventional perspectives on creation pervasive among professionals of their generation. From very early on, they felt the need to find their own language and began to promote projects in which co-creation became a new approach on a more contemporary scene. They have also built on this work to lead research projects, training, specific exhibition frameworks and support for new creation and the new generations, always focusing on the new performance languages.
