Is This A Dance?

Lavaelo invites both young and old to rediscover dance as a pure impulse: jumping in the street, spinning for no reason, or raising your arms in joy—can that be dancing? Two performers explore this question, allowing their bodies to react to different rhythms, celebrating free and spontaneous movement. A performance for everyone who finds joy in moving without thinking, as if no one were watching.

Lola Maury and Eva Recacha, creators of Lavaelo, design shows for young people and their families that focus on speed, rhythm, and action as the essence of dance, without narration. Their creations challenge the sensitivity of young children, who learn through the energy of play and are especially receptive to this intuitive language of movement.

The company offers an after-show discussion after the sessions.
