DEBUT
DEBUT is a solo in which the performer Rosa Romero goes through an initiation process in front of the audience, seeking acceptance and love. Crossing the door, stepping over the threshold, changing body, space, and state to transform into something else. From solid to liquid, from liquid to gas. This work is the artist's desire to belong to a community, demonstrating their worth with their whole body and a strong urge to say to everyone in front of them: look at me.
Rosa Romero is a Cádiz-born actress and creator who, in her early career, worked with young companies that shared her interest in creation and theatrical experimentation. For the past 10 years, she has been working on a personal project focusing on the body, reclaiming inherited dance, and establishing raw communication with the audience. DEBUT is her second solo, premiered in 2021, and in 2023 she premiered Soy un baile, a piece that won the award for Best Emerging Show and Best Performer from the Andalusian Dance Professionals Association.
