La Consagración de la Primavera [The Rite of Spring]
Israel Galván, one of the most innovative flamenco bailaores (dancers) and choreographers in the world, challenges the conventions of flamenco with this performance in which he merges the physical and vibrant language of flamenco with Igor Stravinsky’s La Consagración de la Primavera, an avant-garde score that marked a turning point in the history of music. Galván, known for his ability to reinvent flamenco without losing its roots, offers a performance that bridges tradition and modernity in a unique and intense dialogue.
Awarded the National Dance Prize in 2005 in the creation category, Galván has been recognised for his innovative contribution to flamenco, elevating it to a universal genre. His works reaffirm his position as a key figure in international contemporary dance.
