La (des)espera addresses the harshness and absurdity of bureaucratic structures, which reflect the malformation of a heartless administrative system. Through dance, it speaks out against the consequences of the current overwhelming bureaucracy, which continues the violent, subjugating ways of the traditional bureaucracy. Just another form of oppression born out of the need to structure everything to the point of absurdity or, indeed, inhumanity.
El Desvío is a Barcelona-based collective made up of Sílvia Cepero, Iris Claramunt and Claudia Auzinger, in order to research and develop projects around dance as a tool for reflection, analysis and protest. El Desvío has also carried out the project Lights on stAge, dance and creation for people over 65 years old, with a tour of leading creative centres.
