Les Sylphides is a one-act ballet choreographed by Mikhaïl Fokín with music by Frédéric Chopin. Premiered in 1908 at the Mariinsky Theatre in Sant Petersburg with the title Romantic Dream with music by Chopin or Chopiniana, the ballet was presented one year later, as Les Sylphides, at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, by Diaghilev Ballets Russes. The piece, often described as a romantic dream, has no plot: a group of sylphs dance in a forest on a moonlit night in front of a poet. An abstract ballet with the structure of romantic ballet.
As for Trionfo di Afrodite, it is a neoclassical piece that revolves around a marriage ceremony. Rodolfo Castellanos creates a collective choreography that culminates in the union of the protagonist couple intoxicated by the music of Carl Orff, with great orchestral requirements.
LaFACT's High Performance Dance Programme (PAR) is a training project for young dancers aged between 16 and 22. The team led by Rodolfo Castellanos has allowed us to enjoy various productions in its four-year history.
