Movimiento Colateral

In this show, José Manuel Álvarez looks inwards at the movement and the internalized rhythm of flamenco, in both individual and shared expression. The result is a production that shows the process of opening up towards new codes placing the accent on today’s flamenco, which coexists with Spanish dance and the language of improvisation.

The movement of the body in space, with a determined action or in its interaction with other bodies, transcends, in an indirect consequence, in the other dancers. Action and collateral reaction.

The bailaor José Manuel Álvarez, after collaborating for a decade in different companies and with some of his own pieces, has decided to go into an extensive work of group improvisations interested in feeding from other forms of movement close to flamenco, from the perspective of an up-to-date contemporary scene.
