NAVAJA
NAVAJA is a dance piece based on codes taken from digital consumer platforms. This show by SADCUM presents an onstage self-portrait about romantic poetics in the algorithm-dictated self-learning process during adolescence. Five characters called LOINKS, in an abandoned, half-programmed demo, embark on a non-journey in which self-emulation and performativity sustain their existence.
The piece was created by laSADCUM, a Barcelona-based dance project founded in 2019, which focuses on the digital world and virtuality as cross-cutting themes in its projects. They are also the creators of the dance pieces The Uncanny Valley (2019), The Lesson (2020) and Aclucalls (2022), but they have also created exhibitions, workshops and curatorial programmes.
