Noche Cañón [Quite a Night]
In Noche Cañón, Sofia Asencio teams up with Beatriz Lobo, Jorge Nieto and Tomàs Aragay to find a new approach to text within the comedy monologue genre. The work interacts directly with the audience and shifts the typical limits of humour through rhythms, silences, paradoxes, nonsense, overacting and phrasing.
Societat Doctor Alonso, directed by Tomàs Aragay (theatre director and playwright) and Sofia Asencio (dancer and choreographer), has created its own language to study these limits of humour from a personal, inquiring perspective. This examination of language has been proven to be an effective way to create a space of poetic discourse that questions the status quo of our understanding of reality.
Noche Cañón is part of the cycle Coreografies de l'enginy of the Teatre Aquitània within Dansa Metropolitana 2025. This series reflects the perfect fusion of dance and humour, designed to connect with an audience that loves theatre but seeks new experiences and a different way to enjoy dance from a fresher and more playful perspective.
