Parlem-ne

Conversations in motion, silences that cut deep, and remarks that move us.

Parlem-ne is about a couple, both before and after having a child, who explore different ways of communicating to save their family, and about an adolescent who, like all teenagers when asked, never seems to do anything, go anywhere or with anyone.

Parlem-ne is an inclusive dance/theatre documentary performance based on Vero Cendoya’s extensive experience working with individuals with disabilities. It has received support from the Fundació Carulla.

Performance artist, choreographer, and painter Vero Cendoya, born in 1976, presented IF (L’últim desig) at the beginning of 2018, following the success of her previous work, La Partida —in which she recreated a football match through dance— which won the 2015 Critics’ Award and the Moritz Award at the Fira de Tàrrega 2015, and was a finalist for the Max Awards for Best Choreography and Best Street Performance. It was precisely to avoid comparisons that she changed genre and made her debut as a theatre director in a performance where dance plays a more restrained role than the spoken word.

Before founding her own company, which has been creating performances that confidently combine various disciplines (dance, theatre, live music...) since 2008, Vero Cendoya worked as a dancer with some of the most prominent companies on the Catalan scene: Àngels Margarit’s Mudances company, Mar Gómez’s company, as well as Bubulús and Sol Picó’s company. She has also worked with the US-based Trisha Brown Dance Company.

Performance coordinated by Escena BDC.
