POLS
POLS is a piece of dance and music with three performers in constant dialogue who make an aesthetic exploration to reflect on what we cannot see even though it is there.
POLS is a piece of dance and music that is shared like a living installation. A three-dimensional aesthetic journey made up of a body of bodies in constant dialogue, which generates shapes and figures that hypnotize those who look at them and their multiple significance.
POLS defends what we cannot see, which is now revealed to be looked at: it is POLS (dust) that accumulates and cannot be seen if you do not look.
It is POLO (pole) like a pole of a hemisphere.
It is PULSO (pulse) that trembles in the dialogue of bodies.
POLS is an exercise of contemplation in which the spectator will never be able to see everything, but he will have it all within reach.
LaSúbita is the group that since 2017 has been formed by Emma Riba and Laura Alcalà to give expression to the different dance projects that they develop together. They have created pieces like Aurelia, Amelia i Carles (2017), based on the instant composition and the manipulation of information; A la panxa del bou (2018), a piece of street dance with a touch of humour that plays with onstage tempo; POLS (2019), an aesthetic exploration that reflects on what we cannot see even though it is there; and Olor de menta (2019), based on the dramatized poems of Joan Brossa in the context of the project “Balla’m un llibre” by the APDC and the Generalitat de Catalunya.
At the Centre Cívic Can Déu, the show Pols, by the company LaSubita, is included on a double bill with Chey Jurado & Akira Yoshida’s show Hito. You only have to make one booking for both shows.
