POP

A woman who tries to do it all but achieves nothing invites us into this intimate, funny performance about survival tips, fragility, obsessions, ego, wannabes, frustration, and death.

POP is a millennial portrait in the form of a dance monologue, shaped by various stories of love and passion that lead to self-destruction.

POP is the first piece resulting from the collaboration between millennials Laura Alcalà Freudenthal and Irene Vicente Salas. Laura works as an independent dance artist, juggling various projects. She is now finally presenting this solo piece, fuelled by a desire and need that have built up over the past few years.

Following her last solo exploration, La posibilidad de ser, one of the creator’s pending tasks was to take on the creation of dance and text, continuing to push the boundaries between the concrete and the abstract, telling microfictions, and playing with the concept of being.

This is why she turned to Irene, a director and playwright. Previously she worked on Irene’s on the CorpusArts escèniques a museus [Corpus. Performing arts in museums] project, and most importantly, the women connect in terms of artistic and intuitive passion.

Together, let’s talk about chakras, frustrations, who we wanted to be, performing arts creation, buying essential oils on Amazon, and attempt to recall why we are here.
