Romeo & Carmen - Los Extranjeros III
Romeo & Carmen - Los Extranjeros III is an international collaboration between Dansa Metropolitana and the Kadia Faraux company from Lyon (France), with the participation of the cities of Sabadell, Terrassa and Barcelona (Barceloneta Civic Centre). This project began in 2023 with the aim of creating a community dance performance over the years that could be developed at the same level as a professional piece.
It features women between the ages of 40 and 80 who use their bodies to reflect on romantic relationships and how they are reflected in individuals and society. This work engages in onstage dialogue with a group of young French individuals who are engaged in the same reflection in France.
The professionals supporting this process are Kadia Faraux, a French choreographer and expert in community creations, and Pol Jiménez, a young Catalan choreographer who explores Spanish dance through his own language and has very promising future prospects.
Romeo & Carmen - Los Extranjeros III will be the starting point for the choreography that Kadia Faraux will create, also with the help of Pol Jiménez, for the Défilé of the Lyon Dance Biennale in 2025.
