SOLAS [WOMEN ALONE]

Compartir

Five computers and an online streaming platform where five women on stage observe themselves while being watched. This is what we will find in SOLAS, a piece that explores the overexposure of the female body in the era of digital communication and under the effects of globalisation. It is a reflection on copying, repetition, and the deterioration of images on the internet, but also a manifestation of the hyperindividualism and hyperconnectivity present on social media.

Candela Capitán is an artist who focuses on performance, dance, and digital projects to examine the dynamics of power, desire, and intimacy in contemporary society. From a feminist perspective, her work questions the structures of control that shape human relationships, exploring issues such as sexuality, fetishism, and gender dynamics, always seeking a critical dialogue between the body, the audience, and contemporary narratives.
