Tradere

With her new show, Laia Santanach undertakes a conceptual investigation of tradition from a contemporary point of view, continuing the work begun in her previous piece, Aer, also presented at Dansa Metropolitana, in which she revisited Catalan back-step dancing from a gender perspective. She now remains interested in tradition, widening the scope and investigating different western traditions that involve the body and which take it to the limit (and place it in danger) in order to keep these customs, deeply rooted in society, alive.

Laia Santanach is a choreographer, dancer and pedagogue. Since 20216 she has personally directed her own project. As a dancer she has worked with companies like Trànsit Dansa, Gelabert-Azzopardi, Vero Cendoya or Teresa Nieto, and with theatre directors like Àlex Rigola, Carme Portacelli, La Fura del Baus and Comediants, among others.
