Transmissions: a lecture in dance, about urban dances
Transmissions is a lecture in dance that combines music, audiovisual elements, words, and live movement to explain urban dances in all their dimensions, with a dynamic narrative that is accessible for all audiences. Where, when, and why were these forms of expression created? What are they known for? How did they arrive in our country? These are some of the questions addressed in the lecture, which also examines the impact of these genres, not only in the field of dance but also on the broader popular culture of the late 20th century and today.
This project is the result of research conducted by Guille Vidal-Ribas and Javi Casado, based on their expertise from over two decades as urban dancers, numerous documents and interviews with pioneering figures and national and international leaders in the field.
The show will take place in the lobby of the Teatre-Auditori Sant Cugat.
