Txalaparta
Txalaparta is the creation that emerged from the collaboration between Kukai Dantza and Jesús Rubio Gamo, where the freedom of the txalaparta becomes a space of meeting and shared expression. Seven performers explore the dialogue between traditional dance and a contemporary vision, with a rhythm that beats from the earth, resonates in the present, and transforms into a voice upon the bodies in motion.
Since 2009, Kukai Dantza has formed partnerships with creators such as Marcos Morau and Cesc Gelabert to offer fresh perspectives on traditional dance. With Rubio Gamo, the company develops a language in which the choreographer's dynamic, circular energy merges with the overflowing vitality of the dancers in a shared universe that honours each individual's identity while projecting dance into the future.
