The Auditori de Sant Martí de Provençals is a remodelled cultural amenity that opened on 11 November 2014 with a mission to foster and energise the cultural activity of the Sant Martí district of the city of Barcelona. The Auditori, which has a maximum capacity of 358 people, is part of the Centre Cívic de Sant Martí and offers a regular programme of music, the performing arts and film, with a special emphasis on young and family audiences.
From the time of its construction in the 1960s, it was popularly known as the ‘theatre of the schools’ because it stands between the Joan d'Àustria and Infanta Isabel schools. During this new phase, the Auditori will provide a venue for these two schools’ activities, as well as for cultural events put on by organisations and associations in the neighbourhood.
