The 24th Ballet Season is upon us and, like every year, it is being organised by the dance teacher and choreographer Carles Ibáñez i Padró, in collaboration with the Association of Academic Dance Teachers and the Catalan Federation of Dance Teachers.
This year, the event is changing venue so the ballet displays will be presented as a half marathon, with three really intense days of rehearsals and shows, in the assembly room of the Escola Sopeña Barcelona (C/ Violant d’Hongria Reina d’Aragó, 39-49).
Oscyl Variation is the street version of Oscyl show, a session open to the public.
Autonomous puppets that respond to humans: this combination of contemporary dance and performing arts gives shape to a work created for exploring the relationship with the other, with otherness. The sculptures are the size of people and called oscils because of their capacity to oscillate with dancers.
Mercat de les Flors Programme
An hour before the show begins, Roger Bernat, the stage artist creator of devices where the audience gives shape to the work, will be revealing details and references of this work in which, using their bodies, ten dancers evoke the need to conserve the Amazon forest from ecological catastrophes. Pre-performance as part of the Una Hora Abans programme at the Mercat de les Flors.
You can find out more information on these activities at www.mercatflors.cat or www.dansametropolitana.cat.
A workshop where non-professionals can find out about the Lia Rodrigues company's work using the body. A proposal within the Audience Workshop at the Mercat de les Flors. Prior registration required, from www.mercatflors.cat.
