IT Dance takes part once again in Dansa Metropolitana with a friendly and agile program, with an up-to-date language use, that the young company directed by Catherine Allard interprets with energy and enthusiasm. The program opens with two choreographies premiered at the Greek 2018, Kaash, by Akram Khan - a piece that requires great technique, rigor, precision and physical power - and The Prom, by Lorena Nogal, a very theatrical creation that talks about the uncertainties of youth with touches of humor, longing and fragility.

The program also includes In Memoriam, by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, choreography that plays with caresses and hits to show the polarity between tenderness (attraction) and aggression (repulsion) towards women, and Whim, by Alexander Ekman, a vital and surprising piece that shows the chaos of modern society.

Born in 1998, IT Dance, the Young Dance Company of Institut del Teatre of the Diputació de Barcelona, is conceived as a two year postgraduate that allows the professionalization of dancers based on the scenic experience. With more than 20 years of existence, the company has premiered more than 30 choreographies and has done more than 300 performances, participating in prestigious festivals. Moreover, for four years, they have done a two-month European tour. Among the greatest figures of the choreography who are part of  the company’s repertoire are Jirí Kylián, Ohad Naharin, Nacho Duato, Ramon Oller, Jacobo Godani, Alex Ekman and Rafael Bonachela.
