Tempo explores how different musical rhythms affect us emotionally and how these emotions are transformed into movement. In this personal exploration, choreographer Toni Mira aims to immerse himself in the energy and approach to dance of the new generations of dancers. He also invites the audience to connect their bodies with imagination and memory, evoking experiences and emotional situations that we’ve all felt at some point while listening to or dancing a bolero, a waltz, or a jazz piece.

Choreographer, dancer, and actor, Toni Mira has become a leading figure in dance-theatre. Since the 1980s, he has led the Nats Nus Dansa company. He was granted the 2009 City of Barcelona Award and the 2010 National Dance Award of Catalonia. One of the defining features of his creations is his strong sense of rhythm, along with the precise and imaginative use of the stage space, all combined with excellent doses of hummer and a rich poetic essence.
